Nel memoriale del disastro del Vajont sono intervenuto in aula alla Camera dei Deputati. Ecco perchè è importante anche per noi oggi.
9 Ottobre 1963 – 9 Ottobre 2013
Il disastro del Vajont, cinquant’anni fa, provocò la morte di 1.910 persone. Sono 1.910 vittime innocenti, non sono vittime di una disgrazia, sono vittime di una tragedia. Di una tragedia che, come dimostrarono in seguito le indagini, era prevedibile, era evitabile e alla cui base ci sono gravi responsabilità.
La memoria e il ricordo, a distanza di cinquant’anni, hanno senso perché la memoria e il ricordo sono il fondamento di uno Stato, di un popolo, di una cultura se ci insegnano come affrontare l’oggi, se ci impegnano nell’oggi.
LA CERIMONIA OGGI ALLA CAMERA
Io oggi ho partecipato alla commemorazione della Camera dei deputati, ho ascoltato i miei colleghi e ne ho tratto quattro indicazioni, per il nostro presente e per la nostra progettualità per il futuro.
- La prima è la responsabilità. Chi fa azioni sul territorio, chi progetta infrastrutture, piccole, medie o grandi opere deve farsi guidare dall’idea e dalla pratica della responsabilità verso il bene comune.
- La seconda è la solidarietà. E’ la grande risorsa del nostro popolo che sempre emerge in situazioni drammatiche come questa: la solidarietà e le virtù civiche degli italiani.
- La terza è la non contrapposizione tra sviluppo e tutela del territorio. Si può fare sviluppo, si può lavorare per il progresso di un paese avendo a cura la salvaguardia dell’ambiente.
- La quarta è la sfida che abbiamo davanti oggi. Qual è lo spazio, quali sono le risorse per attuare quanto ho appena detto, per coniugare sviluppo e ambiente?
LA SFIDA ATTUALE
C’è allora tutto un lavoro di manutenzione ordinaria e straordinaria del territorio, di riparazione dei guasti che hanno portato al dissesto idrogeologico del Paese, di prevenzione, che deve andare in parallelo con la dotazione di infrastrutture necessarie al ruolo industriale ed economico dell’Italia.
Una sfida che obbliga ad adeguare la nostra azione politica in modo più attento alla salvaguardia dei cittadini.

Chi so occupa di cose concrete e “del fare” deve occuparsi per prima cosa della manutenzione del territorio, soprattutto per assicurarsi che gli ingenti costi siano ottimizzati e vengano evitate le speculazioni, per evitare che altre catastrofi possano accadere in futuro. Però è anche importante fare memoria per aiutarci a comprendere che non è vero che i partiti sono tutti uguali e nemmeno che di fronte ai problemi si possa pensare al solo voto di protesta. Dobbiamo impegnarci tutti per ridare credibilità alle Istituzioni.
“Caro” ministro,(tralascio l’uso del termine onorevole che mi pare un balzello di pregio che non è dovuto e andrebbe tolto) che il ministero dei trasporti e dei lavori pubblici sia stato sempre fin dal passato il crocevia di interessi individuali sotterranei lo pensano e l sanno tutti gli italiani: il Vajont ne è la prova provata assoluta. Un disastro previsto e prevedibile che per interessi di privati protetti e non verificati dal governo di allora ha causato una catastrofe.Non sappiamo le conseguenza che deriveranno dalla TAV e non ci facciamo illusioni ma non prendetici per scemi perchè far passare la cosa nascosta in un decreto contro il femminicidio è vergognoso e offensivo! Tanto una volta che avete preso voti decidete ciò che volete alla faccia della partecipazione popolare! Il disastro del Vajont è stato proprio l’esempio di come in Italia si affrontano investimenti e opere e ancora oggi ci si comporta allo stesso modo e potrebbe succedere la stessa cosa in qualsiasi momento.
