Correndo il rischio di essere condannati a morte dagli al-Shabaab, molti somali convertiti al cristianesimo sono espatriati in Kenya. Numerosi tra loro sono però rientrati in Somalia dopo che le forze governative lo scorso anno hanno riconquistato il territorio in mano ai miliziani islamici. Ma le esecuzioni dei convertiti continuano.
- Un cittadino somalo di 28 anni, Hassan Hurshe, è stato giustiziato in pubblico a Jilib da membri del gruppo di al-Shabab, legato ad al-Qaeda, per essersi convertito al Cristianesimo mentre viveva in Kenya, dove oltre l’80 per cento della popolazione è cristiana.Dopo la sua esecuzione, avvenuta tramite fucilazione, i genitori, la vedova e il figlio di Hurshe hanno abbandonato la zona, come scrive il ‘Morning Star News’
- Ali Jimale, 42 anni, padre di quattro figli, ucciso dagli al-Shabab mentre usciva dalla sua casa di Alanley
- O Mursal Isse Siad, 55 anni, ucciso Beledweyne a dicembre dopo diverse minacce di morte per aver lasciato l’Islam
- O ancora, solo un mese prima, a Barawa, uomini di al-Shabab hanno decapitato il 25enne Farhan Haji Mose per essersi convertito al cristianesimo
